The Truth About Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide on the Internet Part II

We've heard from a lot of customers lately who thought they were buying 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide on other sites only to find out that they have a much lower concentration.  They wanted to know if they could have spotted the scam.

First, does the website description say you are buying 35% but the item in your shopping cart does not?  That's the first red flag.

Second, if you've already received your order look at the bottle.  Is the "%" sign missing after the number 35?  Is it a typo?  Unlikely.  The number 35 without the "%" sign means nothing.  It might as well say 597.

Third, look at the bottle again.  Are there ingredients listed?  Does it say H2O2 and H2O? Or H2O2, H2o?  Well, that means it has been diluted with water to an unknown concentration.  35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide is just that.  It will not say "and" or "," H2O.

Fourth, and this is the most important, does the bottle have a UN number?

United Nations (UN) Numbers are four-digit numbers used world-wide in international commerce and transportation to identify hazardous chemicals.

If it is 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide it will be UN 2014. No ifs, ands or buts.

If your bottle has  UN 2984 it is NOT 35%.  UN 2984 is any concentration between 8 and 20% Hydrogen Peroxide.  You, the consumer have no way of knowing what concentration you actually have.

We at Modern Alchemy will always tell you up front what you are getting.  17.5% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide.  We guarantee it.
